A Photographer’s Dream

“As a wedding photographer I love working at Worstead Estate. The Woodyard is a really wonderful venue, and the venue management team, Hardesty Event Design, is second to none. If you’re considering getting married here, know that you will be spoilt for choice in capturing your dream wedding photos.

The huge variety of spaces at Worstead Estate is one of the reasons I love it most - it’s huge, but at the same time beautifully intimate! There are 300 acres of parkland for you to explore, with landscaped gardens, a lake, tree lined driveways and woodland spaces. The size of the estate means the perfect mix of picturesque and manicured, and wildly rustic. When you visit, make sure to have a wander down to the lake and island with its picturesque pavilion, and take a moment to explore the walled garden.

The accommodation on the estate is perfect for bride and groom prep - you can both be surrounded by your favourite people in the morning and soak up the atmosphere of the day. Whether you choose Holly House, Estate Cottage, Gatehouse North or New Lane Cottage, they all give you gorgeous light and airy, stylish spaces as the backdrop for getting wedding-ready.

Unlike a lot of wedding venues, there are so options aplenty, both for group photographs and those stunning couples portraits. As a photographer I consider the light at the time we have scheduled. In the grounds around The Woodyard there are an abundance of sun-soaked, dappled and magically lit spots. The variety of spaces available also means your photos won’t be a carbon copy of other couples that have got married here - each will be so different!

Just picture wandering down romantic pathways, surrounded by lavender and wildflowers, to make your entrance and be met by all of your favourite people cheering your arrival. Imagine bridal party photos with your girls or guys wandering through the woods, or a champagne spray on the West Terrace surrounded by everyone you love.

If (like a lot of my wedding couples) you don’t love the idea of having your picture taken, you will love the exclusivity at Worstead Estate. We can take that all-important time to step away from the party, just the two of you, and know that you won’t be disturbed by anyone. You’ll have the space to have photos taken in privacy, to make it as comfortable as possible! I prefer to keep posing to a minimum, so instead imagine photographs of you walking through the long grass down by the beautiful lake, relaxed portraits of you and your partner chatting and laughing in a moment to yourselves, enjoying soaking in the atmosphere of the day together.

If you haven’t yet considered The Woodyard, or if you are still undecided I hope I have helped to paint a picture of what your special day could look like at those all-important moments. If you’re still looking for a wedding photographer, I am honoured to be a recommended supplier for the estate. For some gallery images of weddings I have photographed in these beautiful grounds, just get in touch and I would love to show you.

And lastly, congratulations! I hope you have the most magical of days.”
