Estate Strategy
Our mission is to provide a space where we can develop a sense of wellbeing, connectedness and belonging.
Worstead Estate was once the centre of the community, a community connected to nature and each other. In an ever globalising and technology dependent society the importance of staying emotionally connected to friends and family has never been more pressing. We can no longer afford the resources to ship produce halfway round the planet; Worstead Estate closes loops, producing the very best local produce using a local supply chain. Worstead Estate is a destination where you can stay, relax and grow as part of a balanced and sustainable country estate.

The Coach House
Restaurant | Bar | 6 Guest Rooms
The Coach House is a grade II listed building attributed to James Wyatt, who also designed the now demolished Worstead House c.1791-7 for Sir Berney Brograve after he was made a baronet. The building is in disrepair and we hope to save it by re-purposing it as a restaurant with 6 guest rooms.
The development will provide significant employment and amenity to the local area. Not only will residents enjoy a high-end restaurant on their doorstep but the application include a number of permissive footpaths which will open up Worstead Park to the public.
The Woodyard
Events Venue | Wedding Venue
The Woodyard and Lake Island are currently operating as a wedding venue based on weekend only exclusive hire. We hope to expand the use of the venue to 2 events, including weddings and other events, per week by re-instating the historic north drive and improving access.
This new access is designed to remove traffic from the small roads to the south of Worstead Park and provide easy access to and from the A149. It will also allow more intensive use of The Woodyard as an events space whilst improving the local road network, specifically the junction between the Dilham road and at A149.
Worstead Equestrian Centre
Equestrian and Canine Arena
Squirrel Wood Equestrian currently utilise grazing, stables for 25 horses, external arena and hacking based out of Worstead Equestrian Centre. The estate has planning permission to re-purpose the old dairy building as an indoor area and we would like to expand this use to include canine agility.
The estate is in the process of drafting a planning proposal to this end.
Worstead Estate Brewery
Brewery | Taproom | Tours
Wildcraft brewery moved onto the estate in July 2022 and we have been feeding their maltings (byproduct from the brewing process) to our cattle for several years. The bewery uses barley grown on the estate and forages ingredients from estate fields and hedgerows. This planning submission will allow for a small taproom and tours of the brewery as part of Wildcraft’s marketing strategy.
This application will bolster employment opportunities for young people in the area (Wildcraft employ several apprentices) as well as provide a local amenity and
