Style The Woodyard for a winter wedding

North Norfolk Wedding Venue

At the start of November, we hosted a showcase at our North Norfolk wedding venue, The Woodyard, inviting both booked and browsing couples to explore our venue, fully dressed to inspire winter wedding ideas. Several of our recommended suppliers joined us to chat with couples and share details about their services.

Our venue manager, Marie, styled The Woodyard with a winter wedding in mind, featuring a warm palette of gold and neutrals, deep forest greens, and touches of black elegance. The Woodyard, as a blank canvas with open spaces and abundant natural light, allows couples to truly personalise their vision for the day.

Winter weddings often overlook deeper, darker colours, as couples can be hesitant to stray from the traditionally bright and airy look. However, The Woodyard is perfect for embracing the rich warmth needed for a winter celebration. With crisp days and longer evenings, adding cosy lighting and golden hues through décor elements like candles, cutlery, candlesticks, and bar lamps, creates an inviting and magical atmosphere.

While summer weddings remain a popular choice, there’s something undeniably special about winter celebrations. Vibrant seasonal colours from reds and oranges in the surrounding trees make your professional photos stand out, while darker tones in décor balance beautifully with the season. Twinkling lights and warm accents throughout the venue bring out its cosy charm, perfect for creating unforgettable memories.

If you’re considering a date outside peak season, don’t let cooler temperatures deter you. The frosty outdoors can be beautifully contrasted with a warm and welcoming interior, offering the opportunity to get creative with your styling. Winter viewings at The Woodyard let you see first-hand just how magical the space can be at this time of year, so if you’re considering Worstead Estate for your wedding, why not book a viewing with Marie online?

Alternatively, keep an eye out for our next showcase in February.

A huge thank you to the incredible Norfolk wedding suppliers who helped style the venue for our showcase and for attending.
